MOSCOW (Sputnik) Media reported earlier in the day that Mutko would not go to the games in Rio after his ministry’s officials were accused of running a scheme to dope Russian athletes in a report commissioned by the World's Anti-Doping Agency.

"I have already told you I haven’t made up my mind yet. I will make a decision later," Mutko told R-Sport news agency.

Almost 40 Russian athletes have been banned from participating in Rio Olympics, which kick off on August 5. The International Olympic Committee refused to impose a blanket ban on the Russian team despite pressure from US, German and several other anti-doping agencies, leaving the decision up to individual federations.
