Libya’s Government of National Accord (GNA) said Tuesday it had summoned French Ambassador Antoine Sivan to protest France's military deployment to the east of the North-African country.

France's 'Secret War' in Libya Unravels Amid Fresh Allegations
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The UN-backed government said the presence of French special forces was "in excess of international norms and a totally unacceptable interference with a sovereign state," according to the GNA statement on Facebook.

GNA chairman Fayez Seraj called for mutual respect and non-interference in Libya’s internal affairs and Libya had "demanded a formal explanation from the French government on what really happened."

Paris confirmed last week that three of its special operations personnel died while on a mission last week after their helicopter was downed in eastern Libya.
