In a twist worthy of a Hollywood blockbuster, the viral video of a high-speed chase through the Amsterdam canals – which was alleged to be showing the son of a high-ranking Russian official– actually turned out to be a scene from a new movie starring Hollywood legends Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds.

The video, which shows a speedboat flying through the Dutch capital while being chased by a Porsche, caused a huge stir in Russia when several media outlets claimed the car was driven by the son of Russia’s children’s rights ombudsman Pavel Astakhov.

Little did they know they were actually watching the footage of an elaborate Hollywood stunt.
