The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will ban the entire Russian Olympic team of 387 athletes following state-sponsored doping abuse allegations, the Daily Mail newspaper reported Sunday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Monday, an independent World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) commission presented a report based on the results of its investigation into allegations that dozens of Russian athletes used performance-enhancing drugs at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Russia has been accused of running a state-wide doping program.

IOC to Announce Decision on Russia's Participation in Rio Olympics
Following the release of the WADA report, the IOC said that it would consider a collective ban for the entire Russian team.

The IOC ruling, set to be made Sunday, is likely to punish the entire Russian team with the exception for the athletes training abroad giving them an option to compete under a neutral flag, the Daily Mail newspaper said citing "well-placed sources."

Along with a blanket ban the IOC is also considering an option allowing each federation to decide on the ban for itself.
