The United States is prepared to offer legal experts to help Turkey with its investigation of last Friday’s failed military coup attempt, US Vice President Joe Biden told Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim during a phone call on Thursday, according to a White House statement.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Turkish government has imposed a three-month state of emergency after last Friday's failed military coup, granting the president greater powers to continue a crackdown on dissidents.

"The United States stands ready to provide assistance to Turkish authorities conducting their investigation into the coup attempt, and… our legal experts are prepared to work with their counterparts on this matter," the statement said.
