Colonel Ali Yazici, the chief military adviser to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been remanded, according to Anadolu News, in relation to last week's failed coup attempt.

The colonel was detained on Sunday, with a court remanding Yazici on Wednesday.

The decision was made by Turkish prosecutors.

A source speaking on condition of anonymity to Anadolu confirmed that Yazici was detained as part of an investigation into the coup attempt.
