US Air Force Officer Dies From Non-Combat Injury in Iraq - Pentagon

A US Air Force officer who was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq died from an injury not sustained in combat, the US Department of Defense announced in a press release on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Tobar was assigned to the 4th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in the US state of North Carolina.

"[A]nais A. Tobar, 25, of Miami, Florida, died July 18 in Southwest Asia from a non-combat-related injury," the release stated.

Operation Inherent Resolve is a US led action against the Daesh terrorist group in Iraq and Syria, involving 19 countries.
