MOSCOW (Sputnik) — An independent commission led by Canadian law professor Richard McLaren on Monday presented its findings on what it claimed was a Russian state-sponsored doping program.
"UKAD recognises the importance of the McLaren Report for international sport," UKAD chief executive Nicole Sapstead said in a statement on the agency’s website.
"We have an obligation to help safeguard clean athletes around the globe by working closely with international partners to support the development of robust anti-doping practices in countries where these are weak," she continued.
Valentin Balakhnichev, the former head of All-Russia Athletic Federation (ARAF), denied the conclusions of McLaren report as absurd, saying Russian sport was "impeccably" clean.
