Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has managed to cut the Democratic Party rival Hillary Clinton’s lead in half since June, a Monmouth University poll revealed on Monday.

Republicans United Behind Presumptive Candidate Despite Anti-Trump Wing
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Right now Clinton leads Trump 43 — 40 percent in a head-to-head matchup among registered voters, with nine percent backing another candidate. Among likely voters, Clinton leads 45 — 43 percent.

"Clinton holds a three point lead over Trump among all registered voters nationally and a two point lead among those most likely to vote in November," the poll stated. "These margins are down from last month when the Democrat held a six point lead with registered voters and a seven point lead with likely voters."

This poll has a margin of error of 3.5 percent.
