NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg is set to visit Georgia in autumn this year, Georgian media reported.

TBILISI (Sputnik) – According to the Rustavi 2 television channel, Stoltenberg announced the plans following the Alliance’s summit in the Polish capital, that was held on July 8-9.

According to Georgian Defense Minister Tinatin Khidasheli, the summit in Warsaw met all the expectations of the Georgian side.

Cooperation between Georgia and NATO has officially begun in 1994 when the country became a member of the Partnership for Peace program. Since 2004, the cooperation has become much closer. In April 2008, at the NATO Bucharest Summit, the allied heads of state and government agreed to Georgia becoming a NATO member in the future.
