Some 333,000 people signed a petition on dissolving the Russian national football team as of Friday afternoon, which is to be sent to the Russian parliament and Russian President Vladimir Putin for consideration.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The petition was published on change.org. The 300,000 threshold is enough for the petition to be considered by the parliament and the president.

"All Russians are waiting for a miracle, but the miracle has not come in 10 years, maybe, something should be changed," the petition read.

The supporters of the idea call on the authorities to spend the money saved from the Russian team management on new football fields and the younger generation's education.

In June, the Russian football team suffered a devastating 0:3 defeat in a game against Wales after drawing with England and losing to Slovakia. The Euro 2016 is taking place in various French cities from June 10 to July 10.
