Russia and the US have a potential to build a much stronger collaboration in the energy sphere than the one that exists at the moment, Carter Page, foreign policy adviser to presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and Founder and managing partner of Global Energy Capital, said.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — He added that the United States, on its part, can provide Russia with emerging technologies and potential capital market access.

"Things that Russia may provide to the US can include much more collaborative partnership in energy industry, and a range of other diversified sectors," Page said, noting that he speaks at the lecture in a capacity of an economist and a private citizen, not in a capacity of a person involved in Trump's campaign.

Page noted that Russia was "very much different " from just a "gas station," having a great potential of economic development besides raw materials development.
