Russian Railways Opts Not to Pursue Purchase of Greek Railway Company

The Russian Railways transportation company decided not to the Greek railways operator TrainOSE S.A., according to a Greek business source.

ATHENS (Sputnik) — The Russian Railways transportation company will not participate in the second stage of privatization of the Greek railways operator TrainOSE S.A., a Greek business source told RIA Novosti on Wednesday.

"Russian Railways decided not to buy Greek railways," the source said.

Greece's Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF) announced a new tender on TRAINOSE privatization in January 2016. The first stage finished in April.
