PARIS (Sputnik Press-Office) — Sputnik France is celebrating having been on the air and online for one whole year. During this time it has created a quality, modern product that is popular among listeners, well-known politicians, experts, and public figures.

"During the year, we have made it to the Top 100* online news outlets in France," Sputnik France editor in chief Natalya Novikova said. "This shows that interest in an alternative viewpoint in the country is high and Sputnik France has excellent prospects for development.

Sputnik France is a popular news site in French, an online FM radio service broadcasting from its own studio in Paris and live videos and reports on Facebook and Periscope. "The best journalism always materializes when freedom of expression, an up to date approach and a favorable professional atmosphere come together. Sputnik France is an excellent case in point and this is why we find exclusive information here; there were even two sensational stories live on the air," Rachel Marsden, the host of the World Disorder show on radio Sputnik France, said.

Every week, debates take place in the Sputnik France studio between proponents of different political views and politicians from various parties. Sputnik studio guests have featured Dutch Foreign Minister Bert Koenders; Socialist Party co-founder Pierre Chevenement; Hubert Védrine, a prominent diplomat, socialist and former foreign minister; Gerard Bapt, a member of the French Socialist Party and president of the France-Syria Friendship Group in the National Assembly, one of the most competent French politicians on the Syrian issue; Jean-Luc Mélenchon, the leader of the left opposition and head of the Left Front.
