WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul has previously stated that Chechen man Akhmed Chatayev masterminded the suicide bombing attack on the airport that killed more than 40 people on Tuesday.

"I’ve seen some of these reports. I’m not in the position to confirm them at this point," Earnest stated when asked about the Chechen extremist’s involvement. "This is a Turkish-led investigation."

Turkish media reported on Friday that two of the three suicide bombers were beleived to have Russian passports.
