"Tower's staff will take part in this intraprofessional day. As the staff on site was not numerous enough to open the monument, the Tower will be closed all day," SETE said in a statement.
Trade unions are protesting against the labor bill as part of Tuesday's demonstration, authorized by the prefecture. The rally is set to take place at 14:00 p.m. local time (15:00 GMT), with protesters marching from Bastille to Place d'Italie.
Some seven million people, with 80 percent of foreigners visited the Eiffel Tower in 2015. On average, the Tower reportedly hosts between 15,000 and 20,000 people per day.
In recent months, France has been hit by massive long-standing nationwide protests and sporadic strikes over a bill on the labor reforms, which seek to extend working hours, impose a cap on damages in cases of unfair dismissal as well as remove barriers to firing employees on economic grounds.
