Assistant State Attorney for Orange and Osceola counties of the US state of Florida, Kenneth Lewis, has been fired over his offensive comments on his personal Facebook account after the Orlando mass shooting.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Lewis was fired by State Attorney Jeff Ashton in Osceola county of Florida late on Thursday over breach of the prosecutor's office's social media policy. The policy was introduced after Lewis wrote on Facebook that he wished Florida's "crack hoes" referring to drug addicts a happy holiday on Mother's Day in 2014, the WESH broadcaster said.

Lewis is said to have worked as a prosecutor for 20 years.

On June 12, US national Omar Mateen, 29, opened fire in the Pulse gay nightclub, killing 49 people and injuring more than 50 others. The suspect was killed by law enforcement during the siege. Mateen is said to have pledged allegiance to Daesh, outlawed in Russia and numerous other countries.
