“Christo’s Way” is a three-kilometer pontoon bridge connecting the shore of Lake Iseo in Northern Italy to a group of isles in its center.
More than 80,000 people have crossed the improvised bridge since it opened on June 18. More than 3,000 people are currently massed at a local rail terminal waiting for their turn to experience the heady feeling of “walking on water.”

The “bridge” was initially projected to attract around a quarter million people and 49 million euros, but the organizers now expect this figure to go up to half a million.
