Member of Terrorist Cell Killed, Another Detained by Iranian Forces

A suspected member of a terrorist cell was killed and another was detained during an operation on Thursday in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, a local security source told Sputnik.

TEHRAN (Sputnik) – On Monday, the country’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security said in a statement that radical Islamists were planning a major terrorist attack in Tehran and other regions of Iran.

“Two members of the terrorist cell operating in a city were detained as a result of an ambush. Security forces traced the suspected. One of the terrorists was killed, another surrendered to the authorities,” the source said, adding that the results of the corresponding investigation will be disclosed soon.
