US design and manufacturing company Microwave Engineering Corporation (MEC) will pay a fine for breaking the arms export control law, the US Department of State said in a briefing on Wednesday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US authorities have accused the MEC of illegal sharing of technical data with their foreign employee from China.

"Under the terms of the Consent Agreement, MEC will pay a civil penalty of $100,000," the State Department noted.

At present, the United States maintains an arms embargo with China.
