X-Men's Magneto Takes a Walk Near Kremlin, Rides in Moscow's Subway

Popular British actor Ian McKellen, who played the legendary wizard Gandalf in the trilogy "The Lord of the Rings" and the powerful mutant Magneto in the "X-Men" series, walked through the territory of the Moscow Kremlin and then took a ride in the Moscow subway, Gazeta.ru reported.

The actor arrived in Moscow to take part in the festival "Shakespeare Lives" organized by British Council Russia.

"Shakespeare is my whole life," this is how the actor started his speech during the event. The following two-hour scene was a solo performance during which McKellen communicated with the audience and shared his passion for literature.

After the performance was over, the actor took a walk through the territory of the Kremlin complex and rode the Moscow subway in a so called "Shakespeare train" that runs on Filevskaya line.

The train was first launched on May 24, 2016 by the Moscow Metro and British Council Russia to mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death.

The festival "Shakespeare lives" is held in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg from June 21 to July 1.
