Japan to Protest North Korea Missile Launch
23:08 GMT 21.06.2016 (Updated: 00:14 GMT 22.06.2016) The Japanese government said Wednesday it will strongly protest North Korea’s violation of UN Security Council resolutions after it fired a medium-range missile from the eastern coast, the local media reported.
TOKYO (Sputnik) — Japan’s Kyodo news agency cited authorities as saying that the purported test launch of what is suspected to be an intermediate-range ballistic missile threatened air traffic.
The South Korean military said earlier that a single missile presumed to be a Musudan was fired from near the Wonsan military base at around 20:58 GMT Tuesday. The launch appears to have failed, according to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff.
