French authorities have put the Russia-Wales UEFA Euro-2016 match in Toulouse in the "high-risk" category due to violence concerns, citing local authorities.

PARIS (Sputnik) — French authorities have put the Russia-Wales UEFA Euro-2016 match in Toulouse, scheduled for June 20, in the "high-risk" category over violence concerns, the France Bleu broadcaster reported Friday, citing local authorities.

According to Pascal Mailhos, the prefect of the Languedoc-Roussillon Midi-Pyrenees region and prefect of Haute-Garonne, this decision was made due to concerns about possible clashes and riots involving football fans. In this regard, the number of police and gendarmes, who will provide security during the match, has been increased from 1,300 to 1,900 people.
