The military alliance will start deploying its multinational battalions in the Baltic states and Poland in early 2017, a source said.

BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — NATO will begin deploying its multinational battalions in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland in January 2017, a source close to the alliance said Wednesday.

"It is expected that the deployment of the units' main forces will begin in January next year," the source told RIA Novosti.
