President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Matteo Renzi will discuss anti-terrorism cooperation between Moscow and Rome during the upcoming SPIEF-2016 forum in Saint Petersburg.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian President Vladimir Putin and Italian Prime Minster Matteo Renzi will discuss fight against Daesh, outlawed in Russia, and political settlement of the Middle East crises at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov said Tuesday.

"Putin and Renzi are expected to address pressing foreign policy issues at the talks. The two leaders will exchange views on the current state and prospects of Russia's relations with the European Union. It is planned to discuss the issue of cooperation between Russia and Italy in the fight against international terrorism, in particular, against IS [Daesh], as well as issues of political settlement in Syria and Libya," Ushakov said.

The SPIEF-2016 will be held on June 16-18. The forum is organized annually and attended by business representatives and officials from dozens of countries.
