WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton became the Democratic Party’s presumptive presidential nominee earlier this week after receiving the needed number of delegates to clinch the party’s nomination.
"This is up to whoever is president. I think it certainly could be; and it could not be," Feinstein said weighing the possibility of an all-female Democratic ticket.
"The most critical thing is the president of the United States to have a vice president that they can work with and hopefully knows enough about government to be a really good surrogate," Feinstein said.
Elizabeth Warren was the last Democratic woman in the US Senate to announce her support for Clinton, which she did on Thursday.
Warren has been a harsh critic of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, and has been closely aligned with presidential hopeful and Senator Bernie Sanders on economic issues, including reforming Wall Street financial institutions.
