Al-Nusra Front terrorists are continuing attempts to derail ceasefire regime in Syria despite the beginning of Ramadan, the most sacred month of the year for Muslims, the Russian Defense Ministry said Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Russia-US brokered ceasefire regime in Syria came into force on February 27.

"Despite the sacred month of Ramadan, which started on Monday, terrorist groupings continued shelling residential areas as well as positions of the government troops and Kurdish militia. The number of civilian casualties is increasing," the ministry said in a daily bulletin posted on its website.
