What happened to the USS Donald Cook, when it was sent to the Black Sea? There again, what happened to the USS Theodore Roosevelt, when it was sent to the Baltic Sea and decided to get a bit too close to Russia's borders? Didn't NATO say that if anything kicked off with Russia in the Black Sea, they would only have 30 minutes to get all their ships out of the area?
The US destroyer Porter entered the Black Sea on Monday for a series of drills with allies and forces of partner nations in what the United States called a routine deployment, the US Navy announced in a press release.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The deployment is part of an operation named Atlantic Resolve.
"The ship’s operations in the Black Sea are meant to enhance maritime security and stability, readiness, and naval capability with our allies and partners," the release explained.
All Department of Defense efforts in support of our NATO allies in Eastern Europe fall under the umbrella of Atlantic Resolve, the Navy added.
