Homayounfar began her journey three years ago in Spain, where she resides. Since then, she has visited over 60 countries.
Riding on her trusty motorcycle, she navigated 18,000 kilometers of roads and trails across Morocco, Mauritania, Mali, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea, Pakistan and Vietnam.
Unfortunately, she was forced to cut her odyssey short after breaking a leg while driving along the coast of the island of Qeshm off the coast of Iran.
Homayounfar has run a project called Not Just a Tourist for 20 years already.
"As an Iranian woman, my travels are direct publicity for Iran. When I say I’m Iranian, everybody is surprised. They want to know more about Iran," Homayounfar said.
As of now, the brave globetrotter is planning her trip to the Iranian cities of Abadan and Khorramshahr.
