MADRID (Sputnik) – The detainee glorified the terrorist groups fighting for establishment of an Islamic caliphate under the Sharia law.

"The detained, of Pakistani nationality and resident of the Barcelona locality of L´Hospitalet de Llobregat, propagandized the operative strategy of different terrorist groups of the Sunni branch of Islam," the ministry’s statement read.

He made a special focus on Daesh in his "intense and ongoing" activity in various social media networks.

"His method of work consisted mainly in the publication of photos, videos, comments and links, in which he tried to create feelings of hatred towards westernized Muslim women or those trying to claim their rights, to the Shiites and to the West in general in his Internet followers in a systematic fashion," the statement read.

He glorified the terrorist groups fighting for establishment of an Islamic caliphate under the Sharia law.

Daesh militant group controls large areas of Syria and Iraq and is banned in many countries, including Russia. The group is notorious for its brutality and human rights violations, as well as for recruiting people from all over the world via social networks through which it spreads its radical ideology and urges young people to join the group.
