Earlier, the production of superconducting strands for the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) started at TVEL's Chepetsky Mechanical Plant in the Udmurt Republic. The strands are used to make superconducting cables. The ITER is to be constructed at the Cadarache research center is France. The European Union, India, China, South Korea and Russia are taking part in the project.

The ATOMEXPO 2016 forum is taking place between May 30 and June 1 in Moscow, and is organized as an exhibition and business platform to bring together representatives from the world's leaders in nuclear power.
