There is no information yet available if Russian athletes were among participants of the London 2012 Summer Olympics who tested positive for doping after recent rechecks, Russian Deputy Minister of Sports Yuri Nagornykh said Friday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) said it had found doping substances in 23 samples from the 2012 Olympic Games while conducting wider retests.

"There is no information on London yet, hopefully, our athletes are not there [on the list]," Nagornykh told R-Sport.

Previously, the IOC retested hundreds of samples from the 2008 Beijing games. Over 30 athletes from six sports could be banned from taking part in the upcoming Summer Olympics due to take place in Brazil's Rio de Janeiro in August.
