Airbus Helicopters Plans to Localize Production of H135 Choppers in Russia

Airbus Helicopters plans to manufacture its H135 model of helicopter at an aircraft repair plant in the Russian Urals city of Yekaterinburg starting from 2017, the deputy director of Airbus Helicopters Vostok said Friday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The H135 model of helicopter is already being used by Russian rescue services and medical facilities and could be customized as a police helicopter as well, he added.

"We are currently negotiating the localization with the Ural Works of Civil Aviation in Yekaterinburg. There is an agreement as such but we will launch this project as soon as we will have the first customer. We plan to find a customer before the end of this year and begin deliveries already in 2017," Dmitry Perepelkin told RIA Novosti on the sidelines of the HeliRussia-2016 Expo in Moscow.
