Egyptian Civil Aviation Minister Sherif Fathi on Thursday said that none of the suspected reasons for the disappearance of the EgyptAir passenger plane over the Mediterranean Sea has been excluded, including a terrorist act.

CAIRO (Sputnik) – Egyptian Civil Aviation Minister Sherif Fathi on Thursday said that none of the suspected reasons for the disappearance of the EgyptAir passenger plane over the Mediterranean Sea has been excluded, including a terrorist act.

“We are not excluding a terrorist act or any other version and it’s too early to speak about that,” Fathi said during a briefing in Cairo.

He also requested news agencies to use the word “disappearance” until information is confirmed otherwise.

EgyptAir Flight MS804 departed from the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris at 23:09 GMT. The aircraft was heading for Cairo International Airport. According to the airline, there were a total of 66 people on board the plane, including 56 passengers.

The plane or any of its wreckage has still not been found.
