The campaign dubbed Vote Leave, in favor of the United Kingdom exiting the European Union, has gained a three-point lead over the 'Remain' campaign for the first time since February, the latest poll by the TNS market research company revealed on Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The poll shows a strong and direct link between a respondent's age and the way they intend to vote, with only 15 percent of those aged between 18 and 24 intending to vote 'Leave,' compared to 52 percent of people above 55.

Scotland and the region of Greater London look set to vote strongly in favor of remaining in the European Union, with 55 and 41 percent respectively, while 49 percent of Northern Irish voters intend to vote to leave the bloc, the polling results demonstrated.

A majority of Labour and Scottish National Party voters plan to vote in favor of the country retaining its EU membership while 46 percent of Conservative voters favor leaving the European Union, the pollster found.

The survey interviewed 1,222 adults, 21 percent of whom were still uncertain as to how they would vote.

The referendum on the United Kingdom's EU membership is scheduled for June 23.
