UK Public More Confident in Ex-Mayor of London Than Cameron - Poll

The UK public trusts former London Mayor Boris Johnson's words more than the country's Prime Minister David Cameron when it comes to the European Union, a recent poll revealed.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the ComRes poll commissioned by The Independent, as many as 45 percent of those surveyed believe that Johnson is "more likely to tell the truth" about the European Union than the British prime minister, whose support stands at 21 percent.

Respondents answering the poll said Leave campaigners were considered "more likely to tell the truth" compared to campaigners for Remain, the poll revealed.

The poll was conducted online among 2,043 adults on May 11-12.
