WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US-led coalition against Daesh conducted 21 airstrikes on Thursday in Syria and Iraq, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a press release.

"In Syria, coalition military forces conducted seven strikes using attack, fighter, bomber and remotely piloted aircraft against ISIL [Daesh] targets," the statement said on Friday.

The coalition continued to target the terrorist group’s positions near Al Shadaddi, Manbij, Mar’a and Waleed, striking Daesh tactical units and fighting positions. Additionally, one strike destroyed a Daesh vehicle and bunker as well as damaged a separate bunker near Tamakh.

Daesh has been designated a terrorist organization and is outlawed in numerous countries, including in Russia and the United States.
