Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu blamed the US-led anti-Daesh coalition on Wednesday for lack of solid strategy to defeat terrorism.

ANKARA (Sputnik) — Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu slammed the US-led coalition against the Daesh terrorist group (IS) on Wednesday for lack of solid strategy to defeat terrorism.

“Although there are 65 countries in the international coalition against the Daesh, a general strategy for the destruction of the terrorist organization is missing. The 65 most powerful countries in the world should not be so powerless facing one terrorist organization. I hope in the future we will be able to develop a more effective plan to fight terrorists”, Cavusoglu said in Antalya on Wednesday as reported by Hurriyet Daily News.

Cavusoglu echoed Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan saying that Turkey admitted over 3 million refugees and spent more than $10 billion on them.

American-led coalition against the Daesh, which is outlawed in Russia, consists of 66 members, including Turkey, and has been active since September 2014.
