MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A delegation of Russia’s Gazprom energy giant is due to arrive in Tehran soon for talks on gas cooperation, Director of International Affairs at National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Azizollah Ramezan said Saturday.

"In the coming days, four working groups of Gazprom managers and specialists will travel to Iran and will discuss greater cooperation with the NIGC representatives," Shana news agency quoted Ramazani as saying.

In March, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that Russian oil companies, including Gazprom, have expressed interest in working in Iran.

In April, Russia invited Iran to present its investment contracts to oil and gas companies at the upcoming St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
