Joe Biden has landed in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, the White House said.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US Vise President Joe Biden has arrived at Baghdad International airport in a surprise visit to Iraq, the White House said in a pool report on Thursday.

US Ambassador Stuart Jones and the commander of the coalition against Daesh in Syria and Iraq, Lt. Gen. Sean MacFarland, greeted the vice president, according to the report.
