Russia’s State Duma Speaker Naryshkin Set to Meet PACE President in May

Sergei Naryshkin, the speaker of Russia's lower house of parliament, intends to meet President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Pedro Agramunt in May in the Russian city of St. Petersburg.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — He added that the organization’s restrictions imposed over the Russian delegation’s participation in PACE made it impossible for its observers to monitor elections in the State Duma.

"In May, on the sidelines of the session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in St. Petersburg, I plan to meet with the incumbent PACE Chairman Mr. Agramunt," Naryshkin told the Russian Izvestia newspaper in an interview published Wednesday.
