KIEV (Sputnik) — Since the overthrow of former Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovych, the United States has provided Ukraine with $760 million in aid and two loan guarantees worth $2 billion to help Ukraine rebuild its economy.
"The draft order approves the draft agreement giving powers to <…> the minister for regional development, building and housing of Ukraine [Hennadii Zubko] to sign it. The agreement stipulates the provision to Ukraine of free assistance of 97 billion euros from the EU and its members. The EU will allocate 90 million euros, Germany — 6, Poland — 1 million euros to support the decentralization reform," Kubiv said at a governmental meeting presenting the draft agreement.
The IMF has pledged a $17.5-billion bailout package for Ukraine in exchange for political reforms.
The draft bill on making constitutional changes to decentralize power in Ukraine, which is one of the key points of the Minsk deal to settle the conflict in Donbas, was adopted by the Ukrainian Parliament in 2015.
