MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Moscow welcomes the Hague Court ruling in the $50-billion case of the former stakeholders of the now defunct Yukos oil company against Russia, but does not believe the story has ended, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday.
“I’m sure that detailed commentaries will undoubtedly be given or will come from lawyers who were acting on our side and continue to work on this case. It can be said that we welcome the ruling by the Hague Regional Court on disallowing the ruling by the Hague Tribunal on paying the former stakeholders of Yukos $50 billion,” Peskov told journalists.
He said that the Yukos case ruling is the biggest in the international tribunal.
The Kremlin spokesman said that the story is most likely not over yet.
“We understand quite well that this is not the end of the story. Work will continue in various jurisdictions. We understand that the immediate process of ceasing executive hearings in all countries will begin. We’ll continue working,” Peskov added.
