Russia is ready to join a deal to freeze the oil output, but only if all oil producing states participating in talks in Doha find common ground on the issue, Russian Energy Ministry said in a statement.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Sunday, the participants of the meeting in the Qatari capital failed to reach an agreement on freezing the oil output in a bid to stabilize global crude prices. According to Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak, all participants understood that a deal to freeze the oil output is necessary, but had different requirements to the deal's conditions.

"Consultations between the oil producing states will be resumed in the near future. The Russian side is ready to join the agreement, if there is a common position," the statement released after the talks in Doha said.
