MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has no plans of meeting with Iran’s “Shadow Commander” and Major General from the Iranian Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution Qasem Soleimani, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday.
Fox News once again reported that Soleimani had arrived in Moscow to meet with Putin, citing sources in the US reconnaissance services. Soleimani's trip to Russia would defy the United Nations sanctions, forbidding him from international travel. He was sanctioned in 2007 over involvement in Iran's nuclear program.
“No,” Peskov said in response to whether Putin was to hold a meeting with Soleimani.
Fox News and several other news outlets had already reported earlier this year on possible visits of Soleimani to Russia. The Kremlin has repeatedly denied all reports.
