UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) — An internal UN report, leaked in the spring of last year, revealed that French troops deployed in the CAR as part of a 2013 peacekeeping mission had subjected boys to sexual abuse in exchange for food and money.
"President Touadera has moved quickly on the formation of a new government," Ladsous said, referring to Faustin-Archange Touadera, who was sworn in as president on March 30.
"Sadly, these positive developments in the country have again been overshadowed by allegations of misconduct and sexual exploitation and abuse by MINUSCA and international forces," Ladsous said, using an acronym for the UN’s Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the country.
Ladsous praised president Touadera’s new government for its diversity and slimmed down size.
"The new cabinet is leaner than the previous one, with some 23 ministerial posts, including four women and four members of the Muslim community," Ladsous stated.
