Spain Detains Alleged Supplier of Arms to January 2015 Paris Attacker

Amedy Coulibaly killed four people in an attack on a kosher supermarket in Paris on January 9, 2015.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Spanish police have detained a man who allegedly supplied arms to gunman Amedy Coulibaly responsible for January 2015 Paris attacks, the Spanish Interior Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

"[Police] detain in #Malaga the supplier of arms used by jihadist Amedy Coulibaly to commit the attacks in Paris," the ministry wrote on Twitter.

Mali's authorities have refused to bury Amedi Coulibaly, who shot hostages he had taken in Paris and was subsequently killed by French security forces during a special operation on January 9 - Sputnik International

On January 9, 2015, a man armed with two Kalashnikovs, burst into a kosher supermarket at Porte de Vincennes in east Paris, opened fire and took hostages. Later that day, commando units stormed the supermarket, killing the assailant identified as Amedy Coulibaly, 32. Four people were killed by Coulibaly in the shootout, 15 hostages were released.

In late 2015, French media reported two men were detained on suspicion of providing weapons to Coulibaly.
