GROZNY (Sputnik) — Most of the Chechen militants who were fighting in Syria have been eliminated:
“We now have information that most of the Chechens were killed there because the Arabs who are fighting there and other nationalities sent Chechen cannon fodder in first, [saying] you have practice, you have experience, go on, you Chechen, and fight…Around 200 of our Chechens remain in Syria. They came from Europe and are in criminal groups of 20 to 30 individuals,” Kadyrov said.
The Chechen leader said that Western special forces use Chechens residing in Europe and try to keep them there, giving them weapons and “training them for something.”
“We have tens or even hundreds of thousands of people living in Europe, Turkey, Ukraine, everywhere,” Kadyrov added.
