Four people have been killed, another six wounded in a shooting near the Turkish embassy in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, media reported on Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to Xinhua news agency, citing local authorities, the armed men opened fire from a car targeting a group of Turkish citizens. Two of them were shot dead, as well as two citizens of Somalia.

The shooters reportedly fled the scene, no extremist group active in the country claimed responsibility for the attack at the moment.

The al-Shabaab Islamic terrorist group is a particular threat to the peace and security in Somalia, targeting the government as well as neighboring countries that deploy troops in the region. The group is notorious for committing gun and suicide attacks both in Somalia and in neighboring Kenya.
