Indonesian ship Brahma 12 with 10 crew members on board is supposed to be hijacked in the Philippines waters.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Indonesian Intelligence Agency has received information that alleged Islamic militants have seized Indonesian ship Brahma 12 with 10 crew members aboard in the Philippines waters, the country's Foreign Ministry said in a statement Tuesday.

The ship en route from the Indonesian part of Kalimantan was presumably captured on Saturday. The abductors demand $1.07 in ransom.

According to the statement, the hijackers may be affiliated to the Abu Sayyaf Islamist group but the intelligence agency did not comment on the issue.

The group is notorious for kidnapping foreigners in Philippines and has reportedly pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group, outlawed in a number of countries including Russia and the United States.
